Dexela Limited, noted for their flat panel Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) X-ray detection technologies and services is now acquired by PerkinElmer. Dexela is noted for their MOS technology portfolio comprising of hardware and software offerings for fast and low-dose X-ray imaging which they develop and commercialize. With the acquisition, PerkinElmer has been to expand their amorphous silicon (a-Si) based Flat Panel X-ray Detectors (FPD) technology. This is widely used in surgery, dental, cardiology and mammography and even non-destructive testing (NDT). With CMOS technology, PerkinElmer customers now have the advantage of choosing seamlessly between two complementary Flat Panel X-ray Detector technologies enabling them to meet specific application demands and enhance system performance. Apart from CMOS, the company includes other services as well. They are Dexela Mammography Workstation, the DexView Image Processing Software, its 3D Reconstruction Engine Software, and Consulting and Implementation Services.
