Disc clutch / pneumatic / high-torque - max. 5 000 lb.in

The single-friction disc, self-adjusting clutches are mounted on the driving and driven shafts. They can handle a variable horsepower rating from minimum to about 25hp with torque rating specifications of 5000 in-lbs. at 80 psi. Other features of clutches include a maximum operating speed up to 3600 rpm and thermal capacities to 2.5 horsepower. They are integrated with integral sheaves, pilot mount or coupling versions. It is possible to choose from among five metric models and 12 imperial models.

Multi-disc clutch / air-operated - max. 151 000 lb.in

Dual plate clutches and brakes each come in 4 standard models, whose modular design makes custom design easy and less expensive. For applications requiring up to 300, 000 lb.in torque, and motor hp ratings from up to 15 hp. Clutches are designed for either shaft-end mounting or thru-shaft mounting. Brakes can either be mounted rigidly or non-rigidly.

Single-disc clutch / electromagnetic / without bearings - 1 - 280 Nm | E series

In a basic model of electromagnetic clutch minus the bearings, the stator body cast-in coil and connection cable, an input drive hub, and armature disc, to which the return spring is riveted. Care must be given to center the stator body on the input drive or the hub may rub against the stator and damage the clutch. While installing, it is important to check the size of the clutch because there must be an air gap of around 0.2 to 0.5 mm between the armature disc and the drive hub. If the operator is not using SUCO output drive hub, then check if there are clearance holes that can accommodate the rivet heads when installing the armature disc. There are screws that can tightly hold the return spring to the output component around the armature disc.

Single-disc clutch / electromagnetic / with bearings - 4.5 - 280 Nm | G series

Suco's intuitive engineering delivered one of the finest electromagnetic clutch in the market. Designed with an input drive hub, support bearings, connection cables and cast-in coils, G-Type - Electromagnetic clutch with bearing ensures optimum performance and efficiency to meet the demanding requirements of the industry.

By utilizing a bearing technology, centralizing the the stator body on the hub drive was eliminated offering improved operation and productivity. This device also comes in a fully flexible design that is accessible in different sizes to meet the different demands and requirements of the each applications. With compact and robust built, longer service life is expected.

Mechanical clutch / wrap spring - THOMSON®

Genuine Wrap Spring clutches and brakes provide three basic control options like overrunning, start-stop, and single revolution to control hundreds of simple motion processes. These come in pre-packaged and pre-assembled units and are thus easy to select and install. In the basic wrap spring clutch, there are three elements - an input hub, an output hub, and a spring with an inside diameter that is marginally smaller than the outside diameter of the input and output hub. As the spring gets forced over the output and input hub, the rotation clamps it down forcefully over the hubs, thereby engaging them. When the rotation force is greater, the spring will tighten the hub even more, so there will no slippage.

Electromagnetic clutch - THOMSON®

Electromagnet clutches and clutch couplings from Thomson are used connect the load and motor by coupling two shafts together either through the use of pulleys, gears, sheaves or direct in-line mounting. An anti-rotation tab or flange can prevent the rotation of the field i.e. electromagnet assembly and the rotor and armature assembly are mounted securely.

The armature engages the friction surface of the rotor by coupling the two in-line shafts for the coupling type when the coil is energized, and thus drives the load efficiently. These clutches are designed especially to deliver static or low speed operations in various applications.
