Hydraulic clutch / PTO - i= 1:1

Twindisc's Hydraulic Power Clutches are updated versions of mechanical PTOs, which do not require clutch modification applications. They also allow total side load capabilities. These clutches are generally utilized for applications that involve disconnection between the driven mechanisms and the prime movers. They come in 3 clutched model configurations, and a 4th version with no clutch.

Friction clutch / electromagnetic - max. 400 lb.in | SFP series

The Packaged Stationary Field Clutches (SFP) are specifically designed for use in film readers, conveyors, packaging equipment, sorting and feeding equipment, and medical equipment. Units in the series are pre-assembled with precise alignment, meaning that they may be installed directly onto shafts upon delivery. These clutches are also made with a Warner Electric-patented stationary field design that removes the need for brushes in the collector ring. This design eliminates mechanical friction and allows for less maintenance needed.

The SFP features a ball bearing mounted field and standard anti-backlash armatures. The clutches is available in four standard sizes, from size 180 to 400.

Single-disc clutch / electromagnetic - max. 260 Nm | ACTIVE CLUTCH

The ACTIVE CLUTCH LINE includes DC slip-ring-free single-disc clutches, in which the action of force of an electromagnetic field (electromagnetically closing) is used to transmit the torque. The ACTIVE CLUTCH LINE is characterized by a secure, residual moment-free lifting in any position and by a backlash-free transfer of the torque. Throughout their complete service life, they require little or no maintenance. Depending on the clutch version, higher switching capacities can be achieved.

Electromagnetic clutch - max. 320 Nm

The main characteristic of the magnetic particle clutch is the possibility to smoothly change the torque depending on the field voltage. To transmit the torque from the external to the internal rotor, specifically alloyed and highly abrasion-resistant iron particles are inserted into the particle gap. Depending on the electromagnetic field, these fine iron particles build magnetic chains and thus transmit the torque. The power of the field determines the stability of the particle chains and also the transmittable torque.
